           Michigan commit Paxton Alexander

With the recent completion of the summer circuit, the weeks between now and the November tournaments has long been a pivotal time for high school lacrosse recruits to finalize their college decisions. In an effort to publicize all Division I verbals that occur during August and the months that follow, I’ve started up a feature that will host a wealth of information on all players that wrap up their commitments complemented with highlight reels and interviews. This was something that I did extensively during my years at IL and wanted to bring it back to kick off the dead period.

Recapping The Last Six Weeks’ 2018 Verbals: Hopkins, Denver, Syracuse, Michigan, Penn State, St. Joseph’s

‘Cuse-bound Jacob Walthour

Combining the enhanced significance of the November recruiting circuit for 2018’s with the increased presence of winter prospect days on campuses, December through February is now a huge time for freshman verbals. Kids are now narrowing down their options, visiting schools left and right and hoping to decide before they become entrenched with tryouts and the spring lacrosse season.

Call it crazy, over-covered by the media or premature but freshman recruiting is reality and we must all deal with it. Schools feel confident enough in their scouting to make decisions on recruits, some even getting close to filling up their entire class (cough, cough, Hop) barely into the New Year.

A Game-Changing Longstick, No. 30 Sophomore Adrian Enchill (Westminster, Conn.) Will Take His Talents To Notre Dame

There may not have been a defender in the 2017 class as excitable as Western Massachusetts native Adrian Enchill was this summer. Demonstrating outstanding athleticism and the ability to get the ball off the ground and upfield in a hurry, the Prime Time Penguins sophomore would have been a pivotal addition no matter the program he decided to go with.

After months of deliberation, the Westminster (Conn.) standout felt that Notre Dame would be the perfect fit, committing to the Fighting Irish on Thursday night after also strongly considering Michigan.

Uncommitted Highlight Of The Day: Conner Mosebrook ’17, M, Haverford (Pa.) / Mesa, Big 4, FCA

The Haverford Fords always seem to have an endless supply of athletic righty midfielders. While most of them are off the board at this point, Conner Mosebrook is still out there and is one of many talented Mesa Fresh Fever 2017’s yet to be scooped up.

The 5’11, 155-pound player (who also plays football) has had a few nice campaigns at some tournaments I’ve attended, specifically the Platinum Cup, IL Invitational and B’more Classic. Mosebrook is rather impressive without the ball in his stick, putting himself in the right spots on the field in order to be successful. When he has time and room, the ball often winds up in the back of the net. When there’s a shorty matched up with him and he’s going to the goal, there’s usually the same result.

Continuing A Strong Defensive Tradition at Loyola, Cherry Creek and 3d Colorado Sophomore Jack Calderone Talks About His Commitment

Loyola has established a reputation for doing their due diligence on the recruiting trail, spending plenty of time evaluating prospects before making decisions on players they’d like to join their program.

In this particular situation, the Greyhounds picked up a gem of a sophomore recruit from 3d and Cherry Creek in defenseman Jack Calderone (5’11, 165 pounds), who committed late last week. Calderone hadn’t ever been watched by Loyola head coach Charley Toomey until this fall, during which the Colorado native was written up for his play at the B’more Classic and the Philly Showcase.
