The Rundown: Denver, Syracuse, Ohio State, Army, Air Force, Holy Cross, High Point & more

combine_images2:18.jpgCommitments have been coming in hot over the last month or so yet I’ve been slacking when it comes to Rundowns like this one updating everybody. If you’ve already submitted your commitment and it isn’t included below, don’t fret… and please resist your urge to send it in again, I’m just spreading things out a little bit and will have another big commit blast in the coming days. If you haven’t sent in your verbal, do so here. While you’re here, check out my Freshman Fifteen feature, which highlighted the most impressive 2019’s from the fall in no particular order.

An intriguing trend, of course, has been the rise in poaching and commitment switches. People tend to forget that those two situations are often different – just because a kid switches his verbal doesn’t mean that he was necessarily poached. Here are a few 2017’s changing it up in the past weeks:

Daniel Reaume ’17, M, Brother Rice (Mich.) switched from Hofstra to Penn State back in December. Named an All-Star at Maverik Showtime, the 5’10, 170-pound junior plays club for Titanium and has highlights available here. His club and high school teammate Carson Cochran ’17, a LSM and defenseman, switched from Fairfield to Rutgers just before Christmas. The 6’3, 210-pound junior has highlights here.

Jared Fernandez ’17, LSM, IMG Academy (Fla.) switched from Furman to Syracuse earlier this month. Fernandez plays club for SweetLax and has highlights at this link. He had been committed to the Paladins since last March.

Wheaton Jackoboice ’17, A, Culver (Ind.) switched from Richmond to Brown in the past two weeks. The lefty from Kansas City starts for Jon Posner’s Eagles and had been committed to the Spiders since April. His highlights are at this link.
