The Rundown: UNC, Princeton, Ohio State, Georgetown, Albany, Hofstra, Boston U., Fairfield, Rutgers & More

combine_images2The holiday has wound down and recruits continue to finalize decisions now that the November circuit is in the books. In today’s Rundown, there are new commits to 24 different Division I programs in three graduating classes.

Recruiting Rundown made stops at a ton of events this past month, covering the NLF Fall Frosh Showcase, Quaker Fest, 2017/2018 Champions League, 2019 Champions LeagueTerrapin Classic, Adrenaline InvitationalBig 12 Invitational, Philly Freshman Showcase, Adrenaline High Rollers and Philly Showcase.

The submit commit forms were redone and are the easiest way to have verbals posted here on Recruiting Rundown. Here they are for freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Lance Tillman, A, Valor Christian (Colo.) / 3d Colorado has committed to North Carolina. Named the MVP at Philly Showcase, he was also an All-Star at FLG in 3d and Denver Shootout, also attending Nike Blue Chip and events with FCA National. The 5’9, 145-pound freshman also visited Loyola, Michigan and Maryland.


James Reilly, F/O, Conestoga (Pa.) / NXT has committed to Georgetown. Starting towards the end of his freshman season for the PIAA quarterfinalist Pioneers, Reilly attended the Terp Classic, Legacy, NHSLS, Big 4 Champions League, Philly Showcase, Philly Fall Invitational and Quaker Fest. The 5’10, 165-pound sophomore also visited Princeton, Yale and Rutgers.

Beau Pederson, A/M, Park City (Ut.) / West Coast Starz has committed to the admissions process at Princeton. Named to RR’s Class of 2018 Watchlist in August, Pederson also plays varsity football and ice hockey. He was an All-Star at Adrenaline Challenge and High Rollers, also attending Black Card, Platinum Cup, Maverik Showtime and ADRLN Fall Invitational. Pederson also visited UNC, Harvard and Maryland.

Ben Girolamo, A, Pelham Memorial (N.Y.) / Express North has committed to Boston University. An All-Star at Good to Great and Fab Frosh, also attending Nike Blue Chip, Platinum Cup, Philly Invitational, Terps Young Guns and Big 4 Champion’s League. During the varsity season, the 5’8, 145-pound playmaker racked up 29 goals and 25 assists, also playing soccer. Girolamo looked at other Patriot League programs before pulling the trigger on the Terriers.

Spencer Alston, LSM/D, South Lakes (Va.) / Madlax has committed to Ohio State. An All-Star at the Big 12 Invitational and IL Invitational, he also attended Jake Reed’s Blue Chip, Black Card, Platinum Cup, Big 4 Champions League and Crabfeast. The 5’8, 170-pound athlete is also a 1st Team All-District running back. He also considered Brown, Georgetown, Towson, Providence and Loyola.

Logan McGovern, A, Darien (Conn.) / Express North has committed to Bryant. The 5’7, 150-pound recruit put up 45 goals and 40 assists before being brought up to varsity and tallying 16 points. A standout at Nike Blue Chip, he also attended events with LI Express North this summer. McGovern also visited Villanova, Lehigh, Providence and UMass.

Connor Keenan, M, Victor (N.Y.) / Harvest has committed to Fairfield. An All-Star at LI Lax Fest, he also attended the Adrenaline Invitational, Terps Young Guns and FLG in 3d Fall Shootout. Standing 6’2 and 160 pounds, he’s also a QB in football and point guard in basketball. Keenan also visited Providence and Holy Cross.

Sean Mahoney, F/O, Barron Collier (Fla.) / Madlax Nationals has committed to Furman. The 6’0, 170-pound sophomore lettered as a freshman, winning the MVP Unsung Hero award. He participated in Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip, IL Invitational and Team Florida All-Star Game, among others. Mahoney also visited Towson, UMBC and Providence.

Brian Michael, F/O, Farmingdale (N.Y.) / Team 91 has committed to Air Force. The 5’10, 160-pound prospect was an All-Star at Legacy and Hotbeds, also representing Nassau County in the Long Island Showcase. He started as a freshman and also participates in football, wrestling and hockey.

Samuel Swingruber, M, Ballston Spa (N.Y.) / United has committed to Albany. An All-Star at Top 205 and Capital Classic, the 6’2, 165-pound sophomore is also a standout in ice hockey. He also considered Rutgers, Binghamton and UMass.

Cole Allen, M, Salisbury (Conn.) / SweetLax has committed to Siena. This past summer, he attended SweetLax Invitational, Liberty Bell Challenge, SweetLax Uncommitted Showcase and FLG in 3d. Only visited Siena during the process.

Tommy Coyne, A, Naperville Central (Ill.) / True has committed to Rutgers. An All-Star at Midwest Elite Top 80, Coyne also attended NSCLA, Crabfeast, MVP Illinois and Towson Autumn Gold over the past few months. The 6’0, 155-pound athlete plays football as well, also visited Notre Dame and Virginia before going with the Scarlet Knights.

Jacob Sampson, M, Salisbury (Conn.) / SweetLax has committed to Hobart. This past summer, he attended Big 4 Champions League, Liberty Bell Challenge, SweetLax Invitational and SweetLax Uncommitted Showcase. He also considered Binghamton, Rutgers, Bucknell, Siena and Providence.

Nathan Braniff, A, Hill Academy (Ont.) / Edge has committed to Vermont. The 5’11, 185-pound sophomore attended the B’more Showcase, Crabfeast, NSCLA and UMD Young Guns. Also participates in hockey, golf, basketball and snowboarding. He also visited UMass, Fairfield, Ohio State and Mt. St. Mary’s.

Nick DiMuccio, G, La Salle Academy (R.I.) / Fighting Clams has committed to Quinnipiac. DiMuccio won state championships in both hockey and lacrosse (starter) as a freshman, making the All-Star Game this past summer at both Hotbeds and SweetLax Invitational.


Justin Tkachuk, M/FO, South Carleton (Ont.) / Ottawa Capitals has committed to Hartford. This past summer, he was an All-Star at the All-Canada Games and FLG in 3d, also attending the SweetLax Invitational and NSCLA. The 5’11, 165-pound draw man also looked at Bishop’s University at Quebec.

Austin Reda, M, Huntington (N.Y.) / LI Outlaws has committed to St. John’s. A 6’2, 170-pound lefty, Reda notched 21 points last year on varsity and was an All-Star at IL Invitational, Legacy and represented Suffolk in the Long Island Showcase. In addition, he attended NSCLA, Harvard Classic, Crab City Challenge and Under Armour Shootout. Reda also visited Stony Brook, Quinnipiac, UMass and Towson.

Jack Decker, M, John Jay (N.Y.) has committed to UMBC. Playing club for the Long Island Sting and House of Sports, he attended Maverik Showtime, Under Armour Shootout, NHSLS and Hotbeds. In the spring, the 6’0, 205-pound scorer was All-Section and All-League. Also visited Providence, Hartford and Vermont.

Sam Weis, A/M, Wando (S.C.) / Top Left Loggerheads has committed to Jacksonville. An All-Star at MVP Towson and the IL Southeast Prospect Day, he also attended Blue Chip and the Philly Showcase. Also visited Robert Morris before choosing the Dolphins.

Evan Campbell, A/M, Cherry Hill East (N.J.) / Braveheart has committed to St. Joseph’s. Campbell was named an All-Star at Philly Showcase, Philly Summer Invitational, Super Sophs and Rutgers D1 Experience, following up a sophomore season in which he was 2nd Team All-State for underclassmen. He also visited Rutgers, Monmouth, NJIT, Richmond and Delaware.

Clayton Proctor, A, Radnor (Pa.) / NXT has committed to UMass. Putting up 64 points as a sophomore for the PIAA champs, he’s also Radnor hockey’s second-leading scorer. The 5’9, 160-pound recruit attended the Terp Classic, Legacy and Philly Summer Invitational. He also visited Brown.

Owen Friesen, M, Governor Simcoe (Ont.) / 3d Tri-State has committed to Canisius. This summer, he was an All-Star at FLG in 3d, also attending the All-Canada Games and the Canadian box championships. The 5’9, 185-pound Canadian also participates in track & field, wrestling and football. Friesen visited Albany, Rutgers, Hobart and Binghamton.

Peyton Manko, M, Kiski School (Pa.) / Low and Away has committed to Detroit. Named an All-Star at Hotbeds and Blue Chip 225, he also attended the Adrenaline Invitational. Manko visited Robert Morris, Stevenson and Dickinson before making his decision.

Trey Robinson, M/FO, Fellowship Christian (Ga.) / Thunder has committed to Mercer. During the past two years, he won 80% of his draws, also participating in football. In the summer, he attended the Prep School Showcase, Black Card and Maverik Showtime. Robinson also visited Virginia and Rutgers.

Ian Kennedy, D, Wando (S.C.) / Top Left Loggerheads has committed to Hartford. The 6’4, 200-pound product was an All-Star at Philly Summer Invitational and MVP Towson, also also attending prospect days at Mercer, Hartford and High Point. In addition, he also visited Lafayette and Monmouth.

Dylan McIntosh, A/M, Pitt Meadows Secondary (B.C.) / Burnaby Mountain Selects has committed to Hofstra. McIntosh put up 55 goals and 46 assists in his most recent box season for the Ridge Meadow Burrards, attending the NSCLA Warrior Select Showcase in outdoor.
