The Rundown: UNC, Georgetown, Ohio St., Penn St., Army, Marquette, Fairfield, Bucknell, Holy Cross & More

CSxjqCvWcAEbW9YWith the November circuit now underway, the past several weeks have been a crazy time for commitments, regardless of graduating class. A total of 17 Division I programs have recent verbals written up today, including to schools like UNC, Georgetown, Penn State and Ohio State.

The submit commit forms were revamped this week and are the easiest way to have verbals posted here on Recruiting Rundown. Here they are for freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.

2019’s

Alex Breschi, M, Loyola Blakefield (Md.) / FCA Maryland has committed to North Carolina. Breschi, the nephew of Tar Heels head coach Joe Breschi, missed this summer with injury. He plans on attending the Big 4 Champion’s League, Big 12 Invitational and Philly Freshman Showcase with FCA.

JJ Levandowski, M, St. Mark’s (Mass.) / Fighting Clams has committed to Ohio State. This past summer, he was an All-Star at the SweetLax Invitational, also attending the Philly Invitational and NSCLA. Participating in varsity football as well, Levandowski strongly considered Notre Dame before making his final decision.

Sutton Boland, D, Victor (N.Y.) / SweetLax has committed to Penn State. Boland had a busy summer, attending the Big 4 Champion’s League, Liberty Bell Challenge, SweetLax Uncommitted Showcase, MD Young Guns, IL Invitational and SweetLax Invitational, where he was an All-Star. He also considered Virginia, Michigan and Maryland.

2018’s

Aidan Byrnes, A, Chaminade (N.Y.) / LI Express has committed to Army. He attended Nike Blue Chip, Maverik Showtime and the U-15 National Championships, where Byrnes made the All-Tournament Team. This fall, he’ll attend the Big 4 Champion’s League, FLG in 3d and Philly Showcase. The 6’1, 175-pound sophomore also visited Penn State, Villanova, Penn, Richmond and Providence.

Mark Synnott, LSM/D, Buckingham Browne & Nichols (Mass.) / Laxachusetts has committed to Hobart. This past summer, he was an All-Star at Legacy, also attending the Prep School Showcase, Platinum Cup, Big 4 Champion’s League and Crabfeast. The 6-foot, 180-pound recruit also plays hockey and will be hitting Legacy and the Philly Showcase this fall. He also visited Rutgers, Holy Cross, Boston U. and Fairfield.

Chris Brandau, G, Boys’ Latin (Md.) / Baltimore Crabs has committed to Georgetown. He’s been named an All-Star at the Philly Freshman Showcase, King of the Hill and IL Invitational, also attending Adrenaline Black Card and Nike Blue Chip. This fall, he’ll hit the Autumn Gold Showcase and Famous Autumn Classic. Brandau visited Maryland and Harvard before picking the Hoyas.

Liam Davenport, M, Ward Melville (N.Y.) / Patriot Elite Green has committed to Army. During the summer, he attended the Brine National Classic, Legacy, UMass Mid-Summer’s Classic and Lehigh Valley Showcase. Davenport also visited Brown and Binghamton.

Travis Talarico, LSM/D, Bergen Catholic (N.J.) / Blue Star has committed to Bucknell. Talarico was an All-Star at King of the Hill, Under Armour Shootout and Baltimore Summer Kickoff, also attending the SweetLax Invitational and Tri-State. Before making his final decision, he also visited other Patriot and Ivy League programs.

Adam Towey, D, Moses Brown (R.I.) / Laxachusetts has committed to UMass. He was named to the All-Star Game at the SweetLax Invitational and Legacy, also attending Platinum Cup and Big 4 Champion’s League. The 6’1, 200-pound sophomore also plays varsity hockey and has plans to attend the Philly Showcase and Legacy during the November recruiting circuit.

Matt Russo, M, Smithtown East (N.Y.) / LI Express has committed to Fairfield. The 5’9, 165-pound sophomore made the Philly Freshman Fab 40 last fall and followed that up by attending Nike Blue Chip, Maverik Showtime, Long Island Showcase, Black Card and Prep School Showcase in the summer. Russo also visited Boston U., Loyola, Rutgers, Yale and Binghamton.

Michael Carroll, A, Christian Brothers (N.J.) / Blue Star has committed to Bucknell. Last year, Carroll was the leading scorer for his high school team, earning NJ.com All-Sophomore/Freshman 1st Team honors, also finishing as the only freshman on the All-Shore team. This past summer, the 6’3, 195-pound recruit was an All-Star at King of the Hill and Baltimore Summer Kickoff, also attending Tri-State and Terps Young Guns. Carroll also visited Holy Cross.

Timmy Van der Linde, A, Creekside (Fla.) / Team Florida has committed to Jacksonville. As a freshman, Van der Linde racked up 22 goals and 13 assists to pick up 2nd team All-County honors. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound recruit attended the Maryland Showcase, UPLax and Team Florida Showcase, where he was an All-Star.

Michael Nastasi, D, Trinity-Pawling (N.Y.) / 3d Tri State has committed to Hartford. This summer, the West Islip (N.Y.) native attended Maverik Showtime, Prep School Showcase, FLG in 3d, Big 4 Champions League, NHSLS and the U-15 National Championships. The 5’10, 150-pound sophomore also plays football and basketball, holding plans to attend the 3d Mayflower Invitational, Crimson Fall Classic, FLG in 3d and Philly Showcase next month. Nastasi also visited Rutgers and Providence.

2017’s

Liam McAuliffe, M, St. Dominic’s (N.Y.) / FLG has committed to Fairfield. As a freshman, McAuliffe tallied 55 points for the varsity squad but has missed the last 16 months after recovering from a torn ACL. Next month, the 6-foot, 160-pound prospect will be attending the Crimson Classic, FLG in 3d and Philly Showcase before spending the winter playing basketball. McAuliffe also visited Providence, Holy Cross and High Point.

Jake Higgins, M, Gerstell Academy (Md.) / Baltimore Breakers has committed to Cleveland State. As a sophomore, he put up 34 goals, nine assists and 71 groundballs. The 5’11, 160-pound recruit also plays soccer.

Ethan Harding, A, Skyline (Mich.) / True has committed to Cleveland State. As a sophomore, Harding earned 3rd Team All-State honors and followed that up with All-Star Game appearances at the Fairfield Classic and IL Invitational. In addition, he also attended NSCLA, Legacy Invitational and Adrenaline Lacrosse Invitational. Harding also visited Detroit and Bellarmine.

John Blomquist, LSM/D, Xaverian Brothers (Mass.) / 3d New England has committed to Rutgers. Currently a senior, he plans on PGing and entering school in the fall of 2017. Blomquist was an All-Star at the Denver Shootout this past summer, also attending FLG in 3d and Baltimore Summer Kickoff. He also visited Marquette, Vermont and Providence.

Sam Eisenstadt, D, Needham (Mass.) / Laxachusetts has committed to UMass. This past summer, Eisenstadt attended NSCLA, Legacy, New England Top 150, Prep School Showcase and Good to Great, where he was an All-Star. In the spring, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior was named All-Conference. He also visited Colgate, Tufts and Amherst.

BJ Borowski, G, Glenelg Country (Md.) / Zingos has committed to UMBC. Borowski was named All-Tournament at IL’s Prospect Day, also earning All-Star Game appearances at MVP and Baltimore Summer Kickoff, in addition to attending Nike Blue Chip and the Committed Combine. He visited Army, Jacksonville and Salisbury before coming to a final decision on the Retrievers.

Austin Jones, F/O, Northport (N.Y.) / SweetLax has committed to Marquette. This past summer, he played in the Liberty Bell Challenge, SweetLax Invitational, FLG in 3d and SweetLax Uncommitted Showcase. He also considered Monmouth, Siena, Boston University and Vermont.

Jordan Yusunas, LSM/D, Torrey Pines (Calif.) / West Coast Starz has committed to Cleveland State. This past summer, he attended the Under Armour Underclass Games with the West squad, Maverik Showtime, Adrenaline Black Card and Platinum Cup. The 6-1, 195-pound athlete also visited Bellarmine, Bucknell, Lafayette and Fairfield. Yusunas’ highlight reel can be seen here.

Philip Turner, D, Archbishop Spalding (Md.) / API has committed to Holy Cross. The 6’1, 180-pound junior was an All-Star at Trilogy and Endless Summer, also attending the Crab City Challenge and Baltimore Summer Kickoff. Turner also attended Fairfield and Lehigh.

Adam Galovich, D, Seneca Valley (Pa.) / Duke’s LC has committed to Cleveland State. This past summer, he attended the Platinum Cup, SweetLax Invitational, Best of the Best, Liberty Bell Challenge and Champ Camp. The 6-foot, 190-pound junior has plans to attend the Cottle Fall Recruiting Invitational and Lax Evo Invitational this upcoming fall. Galovich also visited Army, Mt. St. Mary’s, Princeton and Richmond.

Braedon LaBar, D, Emmaus (Pa.) / Lehigh Valley Dukes has committed to Siena. This summer, he was an All-Star at the Maryland Showcase, also attending Best of the Best and Elite 100 with plans to attend Quaker Fest and Cornfield Classic in November. LaBar also attended UMass-Lowell, Fairfield, Albany and Towson.

2016’s

Skylar Jimenez, D, Newbury Park (Calif.) / 3d LA has committed to Cleveland State. This past summer, he attended the Philly Invitational, FLG in 3d, Denver Shootout, Riptide, Hotbeds and Champ Camp. This fall, he’ll make stops at FLG in 3d, Philly Showcase and Riptide. Jimenez also visited Westminster.

Austin Boyer, G, San Clemente (Calif.) has committed to Cleveland State. Playing club for 3d, Rip City and Brady’s Bunch, he was an All-Star at the Denver Shootout this past summer. He also visited High Point.

Logan Bradford, D, McIntosh (Ga.) / LB3 has committed to Cleveland State. The 5’11, 200-pound athlete attended NSCLA, Legacy and Philly Invitational last summer, where he was an All-Star. Also participates in wrestling and was All-Region last year. Bradford visited Rutgers, Fairfield, Providence, Widener and Robert Morris.

Levi Peterson, LSM/D, Holt (Mich.) / True has committed to Cleveland State. The 6’1, 175-pound senior is a three-time 1st Team All-Conference pick, finishing either 2nd and 3rd Team All-State the last three springs. Peterson attended the Fairfield Classic, Legacy and Cherry Bomb, making the All-Star Game at Elite Top 80. He also visited and considered Wagner.
