A lot has happened since the last Rundown two weeks ago, one that featured commits to Notre Dame, Colgate, Towson and a switch in commitment by a college coach’s son, among others. Many 2019’s are beginning to commit (we’re now at 16 nationally, at least that’s what public) and today there are freshman verbals to Maryland, Hopkins, Virginia and UNC. In addition, there are ’16, ’17 and ’18 commits to 11 other programs.

Elijah Myers, M, MICDS (Mo.) / West Coast Starz has committed to North Carolina. Playing summer ball with the Starz, Project Missouri and his high school team, Myers attended Platinum Cup, NLI, UPLax and Jake Reed’s Blue Chip. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete also plays football. He visited UVA, Maryland, Ohio State and Michigan before choosing the Tar Heels.

Scott Bower, D, Episcopal Dallas (Tex.) / Texas Mustangs
has committed to Virginia. Participating in clu events with 3d and the Mustangs, Bower had a busy summer circuit, frequently playing up a class and attending DU Ascension Camp, Texas Draw, 3d National Camp, Crabfeast, Nike Blue Chip, Philly Summer Showcase and FLG in 3d. The 6’2, 170-pound athlete also plays football, selecting the Cavaliers after considering North Carolina and Syracuse.

Logan McNaney, G, Corning (N.Y.) / SweetLax has committed to Maryland. This summer, he was an All-Star at the SweetLax Invitational and IL Invitational, also attending the Liberty Bell Challenge, Big 4 Champion’s League and Maryland Young Guns. McNaney also considered Hopkins, UNC, Michigan, Penn State and UVA.

Bryson Shaw, M, Mt. St. Joe (Md.) / Crabs has committed to Maryland. This summer, he attended Crabs Young Guns and Hershey with All-Star Game Performances at UNC and IL Invitational. The 6-foot-2, 160-pound athlete plays varsity football and also participates in wrestling. Shaw also visited Carolina, Notre Dame and Penn State before selecting the Terps.

Tim Marcille, G, Gonzaga (D.C.) / Madlax has committed to Johns Hopkins. This summer, he attended Platinum Cup, Big 4 Champions League, Crabs Young Guns and Terps Young Guns, where he was written up here. The 5’7, 135-pound freshman is also a regional wrestling champion. Marcille picked the Blue Jays after considering schools like Michigan, Ohio State and Virginia.


Michael Harris, G, Ridge (N.J.) / Leading Edge has committed to Providence. Starting for the Blue Devils as a freshman, Harris was named to NJ’s All-Freshman/Sophomore 1st Team in the spring. This summer, he attended Adrenaline Black Card, Platinum Cup, NSCLA, Crabfeast, Leopard Classic, UA Uncommitted Showcase, Tri-State, Terps Shootout and the IL Invitational. The 6’0, 160-pound netminder also plays basketball and golf, selecting the Friars after looking at Rutgers, Princeton and Bryant.

Declan Flynn, D, Highland Park (Minn.) / Team MN has committed to Hofstra. The 5’10, 180-pound longpole was an All-Star at Top 205, Twin Cities Showcase and Hotbeds, also attending King of the Hill and Crabfeast. As a freshman starter, he scooped up 75 groundballs, also participating in football and cross country.

Matt Elder, A/M, Lake Norman (N.C.) / Team Carolina has committed to Hofstra. The 5’8, 155-pound sophomore scored 17 goals and 24 assists on the varsity team as a freshman. This summer, he was an All-Star at the East Coast Showcase, also attending Crabfeast, Liberty Bell Challenge, NSCLA and Nike Blue Chip.

Joel Scerbo, M, Kingsway Regional (N.J.) / South Jersey Shamrocks has committed to High Point. As a freshman, he posted 21 goals and 10 assists to earn 2nd team All-Conference honors, also playing football. The 5’9, 160-pound sophomore played in the Summer Shootout and Baltimore Summer Kickoff, where he was an All-Star and written up here. Scerbo was also invited to Maverik Showtime and UA Uncommitted Game but suffered a broken wrist to shorten his summer. He visited Hofstra and Towson before choosing the Panthers.


Cole Touhey, G, Rutgers Prep (N.J.) / Tristate has switched his commitment from Fairfield to Rutgers. This summer, Touhey played at Champ Camp, King of the Hill, Under Armour Shootout and Baltimore Summer Kickoff. In addition to the Scarlet Knights, he also considered Holy Cross, Fairfield and Richmond.

Jack Wiegand, D, Regis Jesuit (Colo.) / Denver Elite has committed to Army. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior also plays wide receiver on the football team and attended Maverik Showtime, SweetLax Invitational, NSCLA and the IL Invitational this summer. He also considered Denver, Air Force, Michigan and Harvard.

Sean Christman, F/O, Malvern Prep (Pa.) has committed to Fairfield. Playing club ball for Freedom and Man Up, he was won the face-off competition and was an All-Star at FLG in 3d, also playing in the ASG at King of the Hill in June. The 5’10, 160-pound athlete also considered Hobart, Franklin & Marshall, Richmond, Robert Morris, Lafayette and St. Joseph’s.

Moey Lardy, M, Trinity-Pawling (N.Y.) has committed to Marquette. A transfer coming from Cedarburg in Wisconsin, he plays club ball for Golden Eagle Elite under Marquette assistant Stephen Brundage as well as Trilogy’s ICE program. Also plays soccer and considered Rutgers before making his final decision.

Max McGuire, G, Torrey Pines (Calif.) / West Coast Starz has committed to Fairfield. As a junior, the 5’9, 140-pound goalie earned All-Avocado League honors in the spring and will do a PG year to join the Class of 2017. McGuire also plays club locally for the RC Starz, picking the Stags after looking at Boston University.

Noah Lode, G, Queen Anne’s (Md.) / API has committed to Monmouth. This summer, the 6’1, 190-pound junior played at Adrenaline Black Card, Platinum Cup, NSCLA, Crabfeast and Freestate Top 22. In the spring, he was the team’s MVP after garnering the same honor the previous year on JV, also playing soccer and basketball. He also visited Fairfield, Richmond and Limestone.

Gavin Dembeck, M, Loyola Blakefield (Md.) / FCA MD has committed to Monmouth. This summer, Dembeck, played at the UA Shootout, Crabfeast, Big 4 Champion’s League, Baltimore Summer Kickoff, Maverik Showtime and Freestate Games. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound junior also plays varsity soccer for the Dons’ team currently ranked No. 3 in the area.

Will Talbott-Shere, A/M, Shaker Heights (Oh.) / Burning River has committed to Binghamton. The 5’8, 150-pound junior led his team in points in the spring, tallying 48 goals and 51 assists. In the summer, he attended Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip and played in the All-Star Game at King of the Hill. Also plays varsity golf, eventually choosing to continue his lacrosse career with the Bearcats after considering Marquette.


Ben Baker, A/M, Upper Arlington (Oh.) / Resolute has committed to High Point. This summer, he represented the Midwest at the Under Armour Underclass Games, also attending NHSLS and Under Armour Shootout.

Joe Tabor, G, Monte Vista (Calif.) has committed to Loyola. Playing in club events with ADVNC and the Alcatraz Outlaws, he attended the IL Invitational, Adrenaline High Rollers Northwest, Gait Cup, Adrenaline Showcase and Shootout and Elite 100, where he was an All-Star. The 6’1, 185-pound senior also looked at High Point and Colorado College.

Jono Durham, A, Charlotte Christian (N.C.) has committed to VMI. This summer, he was an All-Star at MVP Towson and Under Armour Shootout, also attending Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip. The 5’9, 170-pound senior plays wide receiver on the football team and has won a pair of state championships. Durham also considered Towson, Tampa, Stevenson and Washington & Lee.
