In an effort to offer unbiased evaluations and report on a larger number of recruits at the nation’s most elite events, I made the difficult decision in August to leave Inside Lacrosse and launch this site, RecruitingRundown.com. The mission is to partner with the very best showcases and tournaments across the country to report on the burgeoning and exciting recruiting landscape, covering more events than any other source out there. There will be plenty of video, commitment stories, interviews with big name coaches and players and most importantly, the most extensive player and club rankings to date. During the high school season, we’ll be offering weekly national rankings, regional polls, game coverage and other features, bringing the most credible and in-depth analysis in prep lacrosse.
Just like the recruiting world is always developing, so will we. What you see now is not all you’ll get – over the next several months, the plan is to roll out player and club profiles similar to what one would find in major sports. The game is growing rapidly and the demand for recruiting coverage from knowledgeable and unbiased writers is at an all-time high. So with that said, the sport finally deserves coverage at the level of football and basketball. To accomplish that feat, renowned and experienced writers from all over the country will help pump out content and provide opinions at a high volume. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what you’ll currently see on the site:
-Up to date commitment lists on all four high school classes – 2015’s (seniors), 2016’s (juniors), 2017’s (sophomores) and 2018’s (freshmen).
-Player rankings from September, originally published on IL by yours truly. Click on a kid’s name and it’ll jump right to his respective highlight reel.
-Q&A’s with some of the country’s best players who recently committed. Right now, that would be Hopkins-bound 2018 LSM Michael Ubriaco and recent Loyola commit Aidan Olmstead, the No. 24 sophomore in the land.
-Event coverage from the fall. A schedule of the events we plan on attending in November is currently on the ‘Event Coverage’ page, though we’ll keep adding and updating as we flesh out the schedule.
What’s still to come:
-Enhanced player rankings updated throughout the year
-Club team rankings in December
-Regional and national HS rankings changed weekly from March to June
-Tons of interviews, video, game coverage and event writeups
Please let us know your feedback!
